The Rotary Club of Lake Placid, NY along with our partners are excited to share a much-needed community service opportunity.   Many in the community helped to support the Lake Placid Ecumenical Ministries Food Pantry throughout COVID-19.  Recently the number of folks using the food pantry has increased, and some foods are no longer available from the regional food bank.
So, the Lake Placid Rotary Club along with its food drive partners plans to host one more food drives this fall.  It will take place Saturday November 13 between 9:00am – 12:00am at the St. Agnes Church parking lot.
The holidays are just around the corner so let's get ready for Thanksgiving with November's food drive.
Your generosity during COVID-19 was instrumental in supporting families that were in need.  In total the community gave food and monetary donations for 14,627 meals.  That’s enough to feed a family of four, three meals a day for 3.3 years!
The food pantry is reaching out for asking for support and would appreciate any level of support.  In November the food drive is seeking items to help families with Thanksgiving, for example frozen turkeys, canned green beans, stuffing mix, cornbread mix / cornmeal, potatoes (fresh or dried), cranberry sauce, gravy mix, poultry seasoning, onions / celery / carrots, rolls, etc.  Click this link for the list of the pantry's current needs:
Please come join us to help meet the community's nutrition needs as temperatures begin to cool and visitors return to their daily lives.
By working together, we can achieve our goal to address the challenge of hunger in our community. We thank you for your generosity.
