Parmalee Tolkan, President of the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society address our club this morning with some of the Society's history and to update us on activities and events which make the Society's location at the former New York Central RR station building a most interesting place for locals and visitors alike.  The Society is a membership organization created in 1948 for the purpose of documenting and preserving the history of the Village of Lake Placid and the Town of North Elba in New York State.  The Society is located at what will be the terminus of the new rail trail.  Please visit the Society's website at to learn more about the many activities the Society is involved with.
